Chris + Brittany are married

When I meet up with Chris and Brittany they just finished getting married. Now it was time to party. We jumped in the limo and got on the freeway headed to the Spring Preserve. Come to find out there was an accident on the freeway which ate up a lot of time so we decided to go over to the art district. I will have to say the pictures turned out absolutely great. Brittany you looked amazing and loved the laced dress. Chris and Brittany are part a group of the fabulous couples I have shot from Buffalo New York. I have still not had a chance to get to New York for a wedding but I hope to be going soon. After we got done shooting over at the art district we headed back to the Caesars suite, which was a really cool room. Brittany and Chris I wish you the many years and love and fun.

Kat + Kim= Las Vegas Destination Wedding Photos

There is nothing you can’t love about this couple. We had so much fun together. We spent the day together after they got married at one of the chapels here in Las Vegas. One of my favorite moments as a wedding photographer is the time I get to spend with the newly wed couples and seeing the excitement they have. I have been married almost 8 years and I believe seeing so many people in love all the times makes me love my husband more and more. The moment from right after they say you are married is the best feeling in the world. Knowing you get to wake up next to that person everyday for the rest of your life. Ok so lets get back to this cute couple. They are from Australia and have been together for awhile and traveled so many places in the world. They are sous chefs and have a great blog called small world big food. We went all over Vegas to get an urban yet romantic feeling. My favorite shots are the last two. Manuelita+Rhys=Classy Vegas Pictures

Manuelita and Rhys came to Las Vegas to get married and I had the honor of capturing some memories of their special day. She is an actress in Canada and I had a great time talking to them about how they met on the set for the TV series Smallville. Besides being beautiful she is also extremely talented. Manuelita made her own dress and put her own little twist on her shoes. The detail on both were amazing. I don’t know how she finds the time to do it. Rhys is also in the film industry and was convinced that his right side was his good side. I was tempted to flip all of his pictures in photoshop to play a trick on him but I didn’t or did I? Thank you both for the fun times and enjoy your sneak peak.

I’m not sure if Rhys thought I was fast enough to get this shot. Out of no where he runs into the corner and grabs a mop. He proceeded to dance and sing with it.

Chris+Michelle= Vintage Las Vegas Wedding Pictures

Chris and Michelle came all the way from Pennsylvania to get married in Las Vegas. There was nothing traditional about this wedding. From getting married by Elvis to wearing this amazing reproduction wing bust dress. They wanted that vintage old fashion feel to their day. To accomplish this theme, their isn’t a better location in Vegas to go then Downtown Las Vegas. We had so much fun cruising Fremont street.

They both love flamingos.

Love this picture. Thanks to both of you for totally rocking it out on the old Vegas streets.

Cody + Jessica = Rock n Roll

Jessica and Cody came to Las Vegas from Texas to get married in what she called “a little five minute wedding”. They were married at the Hollywood Chapel on Las Vegas Blvd. What they really envisioned was catching the fun and edgy side of Las Vegas with a bridal session right after the wedding. They weren’t looking for the cliche Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign or the Bellagio Fountain. Those are great memories for some but not them. They wanted the “Old Style Vegas”. Normally this would call for the Neon Bone Yard Museum but since it is closed we had to get creative. We started out the shoot just south of Downtown Las Vegas at the Art District. The environment added to the excitement of the shoot and the painted walls gave them the color and edgy feel they were looking for. After that we went right to Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas and captured some of the lights of old vegas. Jessica and Cody were amazing and a photographers dream because they pushed me to think outside of the box. They were willing and ready for anything and that shows in their photographs. Also I cant believe she got her dress for $200.00 (WOW) loved it.

Ara my doll – Fun Photographer Las Vegas

So some of you may know Ara. She is my cousin and when ever I feel like going out and shooting I call her. There is nothing like having my very own real life barbie I can dress up and tell what to do. Ara thanks for putting up with me and teasing your hair like crazy. I wanted to head down town to get some some fun shots but it is always better to bring a guy with me. Damon was that guy and was our body guard. Thanks Damon for protecting us from all the bad guys. I talked Damon into taking a couple shots with Ara which turned out great. It’s always fun to do a shoot just for me.

This is the Ara I know and love, so full of life.

Wedding Chapels in Las Vegas, NV Have Restrictions on Outside Professional Wedding Photographers

I get many calls from future brides that want to get married inside on of the many wedding chapels in Las Vegas. Here is an article that will help prepare you.

Southern Nevada attracts many tourists who want to get married. Having Elvis conduct is always a classic. However many brides and grooms that plan to get married here in advance make a common mistake. When you purchase a wedding package from one of the many wedding chapels available they do not let you bring in your own photographer into the chapel. This limitation may not always be clearly presented upon booking a location. Some of the chapels are upfront about it and do have great photographers but be careful because some may disappoint you. Before you book your chapel and ceremony make sure you find out about picture restrictions within the chapel.

Why is this so important? You are coming to Southern Nevada to get married for a reason. You want to be able to remember your special day. When you look back at your photos you want to be brought back to those special moment. Getting married by Elvis is cool so hopefully if they do not allow outside professionals you will be able to get decent photos from the person they provide.

To make it harder for visitors that want to find a professional if one does a Google search for wedding photographer Las Vegas the majority of the local businesses that show up on the map section are wedding chapels not real photographers.

Unfortunately when you leave the amazing chapel you were just married in you are going around town without someone to capture your memories. Once you leave the chapel the real fun on the town starts. It may require double booking for you but do not forget to get some great shots in and around town with a local expert. Also if you have a wedding reception, do not make the mistake of not having those moments captured. Look for a local pro that will be able to show you around town and get the portraits you are looking for.

Again I am not trying to take anything away from the chapels because they are a staple of the whole Las Vegas persona but engaged couples need to be prepared.

Viva Las Vegas | Las Vegas Wedding Photographer

That is what my last wedding couple were singing, Viva Las Vegas…. Rachel and Justin came to Vegas to have their wedding. They went all out with Elvis and all. (Rachel) let me tell you I have not laughed that much in a long time. If you ever just need to laugh Rachel is the gal to be around. We went out and did a quick engagement shoot the day before they got married.
