Dick + Nicole are engaged

For some reason when I shoot in one location I always shoot that same location over and over. So I ended up shooting at the dry lake 3 times in one week. With the crazy winds Vegas always has out there it is totally just about the couple. Dick and Nicole’s love is still fresh and new. I think we can all see it in all the pictures. Although Nicole’s hair was blowing everywhere it did not stop her from just letting loose and letting me capture the real beauty we call love.

Who said you couldn’t look good having fun. You guys totally Rocked the running pictures. This one is my favorite by far. My reasoning is because Nicole was all about putting the hair up and focusing on just them.

Fernando + Luz are engaged

Fernando and Luz came from New York and wanted some desert shots. Around Vegas we can definitely handle that. When Luz and I first talked on the phone we discussed what to wear for the session. She told me they were going to do one casual and one dressy outfit. Which I always recommend so you can have two different looks. So when we got to the dry lake bed she pulls out this cute red dress. Which I loved. We a such a great time out there. I totally love when there is nothing else around and you can just focus on your couple. Their second outfit change blew me away. Wait till you see it.

Luz you looked amazing and I can’t wait to see what you wear on your wedding day!

I love this image. By far the emotion is what sums up the whole day.

Congratulations and can’t wait to see you next year.

Mathilde + Marc-Andre = Valley of Fire Wedding

Mathilde and Marc-Andre love to travel. They are from Quebec and French Canadian so they were a little nervous about speaking English. (Personally I thought they did amazing with their English since they hardly ever speak it back home.) They came to Las Vegas with plans of it being the first stop on their way to see multiple beautiful locations in California. At least that’s what their families thought. The first leg of the trip ended up being the start of an amazing honeymoon. Mathilde actually works for Marc-Andre’s father so hopefully the surprise announcement of their wedding will go over well with the boss! Because they both love the outdoors and nature they wanted a wedding in nature outside of Las Vegas. She found http://www.thelasvegasweddingcompany.com they specialize in outdoor weddings around Las Vegas. (Unlike most wedding companies around town they had no problem with an outside photographer.) This was the first time I had the pleasure to photograph a wedding at the Valley of Fire and I love how it turned out. Below I started out with a few of my favorites from there. We also played around in Las Vegas getting some fun shots around the Cosmopolitan. I really love being a wedding photographer of big weddings but it was nice change to spending so much time with just the bride and groom. Thank you two for letting Doug and I be part of your big day and special memories!

Blake + Maya engaged

Once a guy told me that Las Vegas is second behind only Chicago for windy days each year. I’m not sure how much I believed anything that came out of his mouth but on the day we shot Blake and Maya he may have had a point. Doug jinxed us by saying it wasn’t too windy. Right after he said that the gusts of wind started going crazy. Luckily we were patient and the wind finally slowed down.

Blake and Maya have a great “how they met story”. Blake and some friends being gentleman saw some people moving in next to him and they offered to help. Blake was so kind that this couple insisted he had to meet their daughter. Well that daughter ended up being the gorgeous Maya and she was the one moving next to Blake. He wisely called “dibs” over his friends and now a few years later they are getting married in June. These two are deeply in love and it comes through in their photographs. We are going to have so much fun at the wedding.

Nhan + Linda = Spring Break Love

Spring Break is a wonderful time for college students. I can’t think of a to many better ways to spend it than doing an engagement shoot with me. Nhan and Linda did just that they came from Oklahoma to take some time off from course work at OU. Doug said to tell the OU basketball fans to enjoy Coach Kruger. I used to always get a kick out of hearing that guy talk his voice just cracked me up. Nhan, Linda and I are both glad you finally got around to popping the question. You made a great choice Linda is a strong and amazing women. Enjoy you two.

Thomas+ Marley are engaged

There is nothing that I love more than when a couple gets all dressed up and plays the part. Marley had me excited from her first inquiry explaining what she had in mind. I loved the whole outfit but those who know me the best know how much I was digging the heels! Thomas is leaving to Iraq or should I say already deployed. They wanted to have one more lets be together moment which I love. I have already shot so many couples that have the other half leaving for a period of time. And I am so grateful for all the men and women that serve our country. They all have a soft spot in my heart.

This is my second favorite of the session.

Wedding Photographer Napa CA Jennie + Andrew

Can I say I just loved the rolling hills as we were driving into Napa CA to photograph this wedding. It is always fun to get away from the desert and see all the green and trees. Jennie and Andrew are both from Vegas and wanted to go back home to celebrate there big day. I was lucky enough to be their photographer. They are so cute together. You will see it in a lot of pictures. I can say it is truly a honor to always be able to tell peoples stories and share them with so many others.

I have to say it was so cool, Jennie had her flowers split into 4 parts so she could hand them out to mothers during the ceremony. What a great way to show the family coming together.

Trashing The Dress

I have been dying to share this with all of you. Heather wanted to get in the dress and glam it up one last time. Which I would have to say she totally rocked it. I didn’t want to spoil the surprise for her husband so I waited until after the holidays. She gave him a book with all the pictures in it. We had so much fun and the day ended up being a so beautiful. Lighting was definitely my friend.

Johnny + Jen = Springs Preserve Engagement Pictures

Johnny and Jen contacted me because they wanted some engagement pictures different than anyone else has from their hometown, Winnipeg Canada. I was up for the challenge and suggested we go to the Springs Preserve. My family has an annual membership there and love what it has to offer for photography. It has a combination of desert landscape, red rocks, and amazing architecture. We had so much fun shooting there and the photos turned out fabulous. After Johnny and Jen owned Springs Preserve we hoped in the car and went to Bellagio for some shots. When I emailed Jen the link for the finished photos she jokingly replied that she wished I could come to Winnipeg for their wedding. When I found out the details of their wedding and most importantly the date I was all for leaving the Las Vegas heat for a wedding. I look forward to seeing you two in August!

Adam + Valerie little sneak peek

I could not help but stop at this picture and post it right away. Every time I shoot a wedding their is always that one picture that totally stops me. This is that one picture. All I can say is holly crap I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!!!!! If you would have been there with us when we were shooting you would agree. Last Saturday we had a bad wind and rain storm blow in. Right when we starting shooting the wind started getting stronger and then it started raining. We got in the car and tried to out run the storm. We had about 5 minutes before it caught back up to us. This is the picture I caught as a major wind gust came in. They always say no matter what you can never shoot the same shot again. The clouds, wind, rain, and a awesome couple is what made this. Enjoy I know I have and yes their will be more to come.
